Formscan By John O'Riordan - POPPADOM might be worth chancing on his first start since last October. The Andrew Slattery-trained gelding shaped with distinct promise when fifth on his handicap debut at the Curragh last summer but failed to back that up on three subsequent starts. However, the son of U S Navy Flag is now 8lbs below his opening mark, while also having the benefit of his jockeys 7lb claim. Mary Bagot, recently finished second behind Aisling Oscar at this track but on revised terms, she can overturn that particular form. Cian MacRedmond takes an additional 5lb off her back. As the only previous winner in the race, the aforementioned Aisling Oscar also commands respect under Danny Sheehy.
