Successful in an Oldtown point-to-point, he caused a 33/1 shock when running out a convincing winner of the Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle and perhaps a subsequent disappointment at Punchestown can be put down to the well documented issue the yard had with a contaminated water supply. He looks every inch a staying chaser, and his debut over fences under rules is eagerly awaited. Other chasing newcomers that hold interest with an eye to the future are Ancient Sands and The Parishoner. The former ran a cracker off a mark of 95 when bidding to land the October Handicap at Naas for the second successive year last Sunday, while Bellewstown maiden hurdle winner The Parishoner should pay his way over fences in time.
