Formscan By Donal Murphy - SHRAPNEL has turned a corner since joining the Gordon Elliott yard and the half-brother of Weapon's Amnesty can complete his hat-trick of wins. He won his maiden hurdle at Galway on his tenth start over hurdles in October and he followed up on his next outing over the course in November. The step up to 2m 4f should suit him and with Davy Russell booked to ride he should win this. While the selection is clearly improving his four rivals seem to be going the opposite way. They all have plenty of ability but have been disappointing on their last few outings. Coming back from a break Pickapocketortwo is the second choice while the Dessie Hughes trained Si C'etait Vrai gets third preference.
