Formscan By Gary Carson - AUPCHARLIE just ran out of steam on his first start over three miles at Leopardstown and was pipped close home in Grade 1 company. He had travelled much the best turning for home then and a peck at the last probably didn't help his cause. As was witnessed on a few occasions over Christmas it's a long way home from the last at the Dublin track and it wouldn't be fair to say he didn't get the trip as he just failed to hold at bay stable-mate Back In Focus, who would be a more stout staying type. He looks hard to oppose here and should again account for Texas Jack and Tofino Bay, who were back in third and fourth at Leopardstown. Lord Windermere looks an improving type and was a good winner of a novice chase at Leopardstown. This is a significant step up in class now, however, and he needs to find plenty more improvement.
