Formscan  - SPLENDENT was a comfortable winner over 1m4f at Newbury, scoring by four lengths, and he shaped as if this extra yardage would be no issue. He has been handed a 5lb rise, but that could prove lenient. Sweet William is an obvious danger after victories at Doncaster and, most recently, at Newbury, where he scored comfortably on his handicap debut. He is a stayer on the up and another success could help him sneak into the Ebor field. Hms President, Adjuvant, Omniscient and Post Impressionist are others to consider.
