His best run came in the ultra competitive Paddy Power Chase when he made the running right up until before the final fence. That level of form makes him a stand out in this type of contest. Macnicholson looks an obvious threat on his chasing debut. He comes here off the back of another big effort at Punchestown, where he was a good second to Some Article in a competitive handicap hurdle. There wouldn't be much between him and Abbey Lane over timber so if he can transfer that to fences he has to have a big shout. Shamar probably went a bit quick in front on his chasing debut for his new connections at Fairyhouse and is entitled to improve from that run. Lord Adare was well supported at Limerick last time but proved no match for Draycott Place. That form has been boosted since, though, and he could make his presence felt now. Somethingwonderful has ability but needs to improve his jumping.
