Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - Keenly contested, probably by the local trainers in particular, the long-standing Molony Cup has attracted another big field. Denis Hogan gives a second start to recent recruit, Veneziano Springs, and the French-bred may not be completely without hope as he returns to competition over the larger obstacles. Perhaps a safer option amongst County Tipperary-handled runners is Willie Austin’s BEATING THE ODDS. The course winner of a handicap hurdle back in March, Shane Fitzgerald’s mount arrives with decent recent credentials on the back of a Punchestown third placing. Stealthy Tom will be on all short-lists, and with Walking The Walk and Robindevidastar in the mix, some will look towards Philip Rothwell for an each-way option.
