Formscan By Alan Magee - BELLE THE LIONESS made a successful start under Rules in a Cork bumper on testing ground and was placed twice over hurdles last season including behind Liberty Dance in a Listed race at Thurles before taking a maiden at the same venue. The Henry de Bromhead-trained daughter of Soldier Of Fortune made little impression in the Grade 2 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival but this looks a nice opportunity on her reappearance. The Gordon Elliott-trained pair Faux Fur and Sea Aster have both won maidens on soft ground at Tramore. The latter was subsequently second in a mares’ handicap at Listowel but needs to bounce back after racing too keenly at Punchestown last time. Ms Agartha Yeats caused a 50/1 shock in a maiden hurdle on this card 12 months ago but was absent until disappointing at Punchestown recently.
