Formscan  - American Affair is a sprinter on the rise and may have enough in his locker to defy an 8lb rise for June's Thirsk triumph, but it might pay to side with JER BATT. The son of Dragon Pulse finished third to the former last time, but a 9lb pull must give him every chance of reversing that form. Emperor Spirit hit the woodwork in a similarly warm Ascot handicap and he merits respect, as does top-weight Squealer, who bids to put consecutive narrow defeats behind him.
