Formscan By Donal Murphy - LADY MARMELO gets the nod here. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade failed to score in eleven starts when trained in the UK but she ran a fine race on debut for Ross O'Sullivan at Navan last month. She was fitted with a hood for the first time there and she kept on well to finish a never nearer fifth to Madeira Classic. That race was over a mile and five and the step up to two miles now should prove ideal. Boston Icon, Circe's Island and Pleasing Sunset all finished behind her at Navan and the trio re-oppose here. Balkinstown is an interesting contender for Fran Flood. The son of Westerner was placed three times over hurdles and he reverts back to the level now. Fran Berry has been booked to ride the five-year-old gelding who is a half-brother to Graded winner Newhall. Allen Warrior hasn't shown much over hurdles of late but he reverts back to the level here. The Christy Roche trained gelding finished a close up fourth on his handicap debut at Tramore in May of last year and he should give a good account of himself here carrying just eight stone ten. In what looks a competitive contest Courageous Cry and Uncharted Waters are others to consider.
