Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - The Mariga family have assembled an impressive band of broodmares at their Coolmara Stables in County Cork, and their first runner with Gordon Elliott, COOL CROI, could be up to the task here. The home-bred daughter of Walk In The Park won’t have it easy as a four-year-old against mainly older rivals, but one would imagine connections haven’t pitched her in here unless she’s giving the right vibes at home. Elliott is always keen to stress the importance of Lisa O’Neill in the running of his operation, and no better woman to give Cool Croi (closely related to Vautour) a positive experience on her initial racecourse outing. Ms O’Neill was aboard Mi Lighthouse when she last appeared back in April, and that Arctic Cosmos mare may well be a huge player now, beginning for Willie Mullins. Elsewhere it’s easy to build each-way cases for several others.
