Formscan By Mark Nunan - So impressive in the mares’ novice hurdle at Cheltenham in March, CONCERTISTA reappeared with a smooth success at Fairyhouse last month where she beat Minella Melody much more easily than the winning margin would suggest. She can confirm that form and looks very much the one to beat. Coral Cup runner-up Black Tears actually has 6lbs in hand of the selection on these terms and maybe she needed the run when well beaten by Buildmeupbuttercup at Punchestown but she’ll need to step up a good bit on that comeback run and her two best runs have been in big-field handicaps. Buildmeupbuttercup and easy Limerick winner My Sister Sarah give Willie Mullins serious strength in reserve here should Concertista run below-par. Mary Frances won by a huge margin on extreme ground at Clonmel but this is a stiffer task for her on less suitable going.
