Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - A half-sister to three time winner, Hit The Net, JEWEL STAR is a home-bred for the McManus' and you'd imagine that all concerned would be keen to get a win into her as soon as they can. We haven't seen her since July but hopefully the Flemensfirth mare will be well-primed now, having shown plenty of ability on that sole appearance, in a Killarney maiden hurdle. Jewel Star was a never dangerous fourth then in an ordinary heat and it can only be a positive to see Tony McCoy up now. The market should help but the one thing we do know is that she doesn't have to face any world-beaters here. Point-to-point winner, Leish Oscar has shown ability on the track and she should be able to get into the shake-up. Ma Belle Amie's second placing behind Speckled Wood last time, should give the McManus camp a good line and this 108-rated daughter of Oscar has to be there or there abouts. Further intrigue is added to this puzzle given that Christy Roche has two in, Royal Flight (has shown a bit of ability) and Sea Rocket (a half-sister to winners like Ross Bay and Nanna Maura). Alan Crowe interestingly rides the latter. Basically the further you delve here the more you realise that a market check will be crucial before making any wagers.
