Formscan By Donal Murphy - PIVOT BRIDGE has gone up a massive twenty-two since winning at Fairyhouse in April, and the Adrian McGuinness trained gelding might be able to defy the handicapper yet again here. The son of Pivotal has been a revelation over hurdles this year, and while he was just beaten at the Punchestown Festival he gained compensation at Killarney last month when winning a valuable Grade B contest. David Splaine again takes the ride on the six-year-old and his three pound claim will come in very handy. Director's Forum is an interesting contender coming back off a break and fitted with a tongue strap for the first time. The Jessica Harrington trained gelding won over the course and distance on his penultimate start, and he can be expected to give a good account of himself here. Rupert Lamb reverts back to hurdles after failing to complete on his last three efforts over fences. The grey gelding is rated twenty-six pounds higher over fences than hurdles, and with Ruby Walsh in the saddle he can be expected to go close. Casimir Road, Oscar Buzz, Desertmore Stream and Bridgequarter Girl are others to consider in this competitive contest.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lb)Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 140 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 140 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 140 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
