Permission was given for Chic Name (FR) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Josies Orders (IRE), ridden by Donal McInerney and trained by Enda Bolger, which was held up towards the rear of the field before being pulled up after jumping the twenty-first obstacle.
The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Josies Orders (IRE) shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities other than the gelding lost its right fore shoe.
The rider stated his instructions had been to hold Josies Orders (IRE) up and ride his race from there.
He added that the gelding was never travelling, a fact he had reported at Scales.
The trainer confirmed the instructions and stated that he had been disappointed with the run of Josies Orders (IRE), whom he thought was fit for this return run despite having been off the track since May.
He added, however, that the gelding had suffered from a bout of colic in September and he felt that Josies Orders (IRE) had been unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft in places going on the Cross-Country course.
Their explanations were noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Rolling Dylan (IRE), unplaced, lost its left fore shoe.
