An enquiry was held to consider interference turning into the home straight on the final circuit involving the winner, Here Comes Georgie (GB), ridden by Lee Edwards and Western Zephyr (IRE), placed third, ridden by David Bass.
Edwards was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed causing Western Zephyr (IRE) to be short of room between Here Comes Georgie (GB) and Iberico Lord (FR) and stumble.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Here Comes Georgie (GB), ridden by Lee Edwards and RYAN’S ROCKET (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jonathan Burke.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Here Comes Georgie (GB)'s placing as despite RYAN’S ROCKET (IRE) being short for room against the rail, bumped and unbalanced, the loss of momentum was less than the winning distance of ½ a length at the line and that Here Comes Georgie (GB) appeared to be holding RYAN’S ROCKET (IRE).
The interference was found to be accidental as Here Comes Georgie (GB) hung right-handed despite Edwards' efforts to correct the gelding.
