The winner, Wolfburg (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Musselburgh on 28 November 2025, where the gelding finished seventh of eight runners, beaten 32¾ lengths.
The representative of Sandy Thomson explained that the gelding may have benefitted from the first-time application of cheekpieces and a tongue tie on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Wolfburg (IRE) was routine tested.
