THE MW WINDOW SYSTEMS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) Permission was given for Winged Messenger (GB) and Papa Cocktail (IRE) to go early to post.
Leaving the stalls, Kats Bob (GB), unplaced, jumped very awkwardly and shifted left-handed crowding Photosynthesis (IRE), unplaced, for room, which in turn badly hampered Winged Messenger (GB), placed fifth, and caused it to heavily bump the hind-quarters of Sixtygeesbaby (IRE), unplaced, notably unbalancing that gelding but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Zubaru (GB), ridden by Darragh Keenan, Papa Cocktail (IRE), placed, second, ridden by Connor Beasley and Ruby Red Gove (GB), placed third, ridden by Dylan Hogan.
Keenan was cautioned for careless riding as he took insufficient steps to prevent his mount from shifting right-handed which moved Papa Cocktail (IRE) off its intended line, which caused to in turn give a slight brush to Ruby Red Gove (GB).
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Sixtygeesbaby (IRE), unplaced, took a false step approximately ½ a furlong out; the Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race and had nothing to report.
