THE SUPPORTING RACING STAFF WEEK HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Come On Over (IRE), Lamlash Bay (GB) and Pennine Way (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the final furlong involving the winner, Black Endeavour (IRE) ridden by David Egan, Overbudget (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Watson and Beach Partee (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Christian Howarth.
Egan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he took insufficient steps to straighten his mount from shifting right-handed resulting in Watson having to take a check on Overbudget (IRE), which in turn caused light contact to be made with Beach Partee (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Overbudget (IRE), unplaced, had lost its right-fore shoe.
