THE SUMMER SATURDAY SERIES AT DONCASTER RACECOURSE APPRENTICE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for The Ubermensch (GER) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two pieces of interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Division Day (GB), ridden by Shay Farmer and The Ubermensch (GER) placed third, ridden by Joe Bradnam.
Being 7lb claimers, Farmer and Bradnam were offered accompaniment but declined.
In the first incident, Farmer was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed without sufficient correction, resulting in The Ubermensch (GER) to be taken of its intended line.
In the second incident Farmer was suspended 2 days for careless riding as he failed to moderate the use of his whip because of the close proximity of The Ubermensch (GER) inside the final furlong, making contact with that colt twice across its nose with his whip.
Following the race, Jake Dickson reported that Sweet Kiss (GB), placed fifth, hung left-handed under pressure.
