THE COUNTRY & WESTERN RACEDAY 28TH JUNE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for both Between Me And U (GB) and Dingwall (GB) to go early to post and for both The Ubermensch (GER) and Silkies Sib (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
The raceday privilege request for Age Of Baroque (FR), trained by Jessica Macey, to go early to post wearing a red hood was late being submitted.
Macey was warned as to her responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the back straight involving Between Me And U (GB), unplaced, ridden by David Probert, Karakula (GB), placed second, ridden by Oisin Murphy, and Dingwall (GB), unplaced, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
Probert was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, crowding Karakula (GB) and carrying that filly left-handed onto Dingwall (GB) causing Edmunds to take a significant check against the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference approximately 1 furlong out involving The Ubermensch (GER), placed fourth, ridden by Joe Bradnam, Between Me And U (GB), unplaced, ridden by David Probert, and Stipulation (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Bradnam was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
In the first incident, Probert was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction carrying Stipulation (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
In the second incident, the interference was found to be accidental in that The Ubermensch (GER) moved quickly left-handed away from the whip before being corrected by Bradnam, which resulted in Morris having to take a check on Stipulation (IRE).
