THE CRS BUILDING SUPPLIES 'NATIONAL HUNT' MAIDEN HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Barford Brook (GB) wore earplugs throughout the race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the third last hurdle involving Bahati Bahati (IRE), which was pulled up, ridden by Ciaran Gethings and Mrs Pen (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Chad Bament.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, Bament was offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
Gethings was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he failed to check that there were no other runners in his path as he moved left-handed across the track while pulling up his mount causing Bament’s mount to run into the back of him and become unbalanced.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Amatchmadeinheaven (GB), ridden by Miss Amber Jackson-Fennell and LIMIER D’ARTHEL (FR), placed second, ridden by Callum Pritchard.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Amatchmadeinheaven (GB) as despite shifting quickly right-handed on the run to the line and making brief contact with D’ARTHEL the effect on D’ARTHEL was minimal as Amatchmadeinheaven (GB) was improving quickly past the gelding at the time to win by a length.
The interference was found to be accidental as Amatchmadeinheaven (GB) shifted quickly right-handed on the run to the line despite the rider’s best efforts.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that On The Bayou (IRE), placed fifth, had struck into its right-hind leg and lost its right-hind shoe.
