Permission was given for Eagleway (FR) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race, after interference in the final ½ furlong when the winner, Zip (GB), ridden by Billy Garritty interfered with Danzan (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Duran Fentiman, which in turn interfered with Fools Rush In (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jane Elliott.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing as the winner had come from behind and appeared to be always holding Fools Rush In (IRE) with the winning margin a neck.
The Stewards further considered that the interference caused to Fools Rush In (IRE) was to a lesser extent than that caused to Danzan (IRE).
In relation to the interference caused to Danzan (IRE), that gelding appeared to be coming to the end of its run, with Zip (GB) appearing to be travelling much the stronger.
Garritty was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount drifting right under a left-hand drive causing Fentiman to take a significant check on Danzan (IRE) and in turn giving a bump to Fools Rush In (IRE).
