Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
Having reviewed the start the Stewards were satisfied that Energy One (GB) had refused to race and was deemed to be a runner.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference after jumping the final flight involving the winner, Blue Bikini (GB), ridden by Jack Hogan, and Passing Reflection (GB), placed second, ridden by Gavin Sheehan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Blue Bikini (GB)’s placing as the mare was always holding Passing Reflection (GB), to win by ½ length at the line.
Hogan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed under a right- handed drive, carrying Passing Reflection (GB) off its intended racing line.
The performance of Regal Renaissance (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Henry Daly could offer no explanation for the performance of the mare; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Regal Renaissance (GB) revealed the gelding to have sustained a wound to both its left-fore and left-hind.
The Clerk of the Scales reported that Finn Lambert, the rider of Diamond Rose (GB), placed fourth, trained by Julian Smith, had weighed in at 9st 13lbs having weighed out at 9st 11lbs.
The rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Lambert was suspended for 3 days for weighing in at 2lb overweight.
