An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving the winner, Boley Bob (IRE), ridden by Mr Henry Crow, and The Back Braes (IRE), which was pulled up, ridden by Mr Thomas Easterby.
Mr Crow was suspended for 2 days for careless riding, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, as he allowed his horse to drift left-handed when going into the bend when not sufficiently clear of The Back Braes (IRE) carrying that gelding off its intended line and tightening it for room.
