King Of Fashion (IRE) collided with the rail leaving the parade ring.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
William Shanahan, the rider of Straight Swap (IRE) appeared to ease his mount shortly before the line, before finishing fifth, beaten by a short head for fourth place.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Shanahan’s explanation that Straight Swap (IRE) had lost no momentum and in his opinion obtained the best possible position, was noted.
Following the race, Thomas Willmott reported that his saddle slipped on King Of Fashion (IRE), placed sixth.
