Koktail Divin given Aintree target after Foxrock victory
I’m delighted with that. He had a lovely run at Christmas, but I probably messed up when we were under the weather in January. I dropped back in trip, wrongly. I was always going for another race and then he wasn’t eligible. It’s lovely to see him go and do that today. I made a mistake, got it wrong, and as everyone knows we weren’t flying at the time. I’m delighted for the Maloneys, Barry and Aileen are here, so it’s great. I’d say we’ll aim him at Aintree now.
Barnahash Primrose a poignant winner for Sweeney
That was great. It’s been a stop-start kind of season with small niggly things all the way along,. Hopefully, they are starting to come right now. It’s great to win. We probably had an extra man on her back with Michael O’Sullivan, he came into me a lot. It’s just an awful tragedy. There were a lot of things went wrong for her in the race. At the start she nearly went out through the wing. She’s an honest mare. We can draw a line through Christmas. She just gets a little bit flustered and she got flustered down at the start and they got away on her. Limerick was very tacky and I don’t think she handled it. She won a bumper around there but it was normal loose heavy ground at Christmas and they go through it. Hopefully, we can keep her in one piece. Her mother (Barnahash Rose) won the Shannon Spray in Limerick (Grade 3, 2016), but it may come a bit quick in ten days time, we’ll see. Maybe she could go to Fairyhouse for the Grade 1, would she be good enough?. We’ll try and get to Limerick if we can, but it might be coming a bit quick. We’ll see how she comes out of it.
Red-letter day for jockey Phillips aboard Maid On The Moon
Gainford seen to good effect on Birmingham Alabama
I was a bit concerned coming across the line because I thought we were nodded, but it’s great. Coming here we were fairly hopeful. The last day she just didn’t handle the ground. We had the two-and-a-half mile and the three-mile and, with the new rating bands, she was one pound out from getting in earlier. It was a fair performance carrying 12-1 over three miles. I’m delighted with that. Jordan said he got into a little bit of a pocket, but once she passed one or two she motored home. I was going to claim off her, but then Jordan rang me on Friday morning. He was after getting cleared to ride, so I was delighted to put him back up. She’s a good strong mare and on the slightly better ground today she was able to carry the weight. We’ll probably go with her to Fairyhouse at Easter time, there are a couple of races there that might suit.
Gainford at double on Golden Joy
I'd say the good ground suited him. He jumped great and Jordan gave him a great ride. I was delighted with him there. He had a good run first time around a track that was very sharp for him. We’ll pick and choose where we go with him.
Hendrick and Secrecies Of Stone a winning pair
Jack kept him happy all the way. He said he liked being wide, he doesn’t seem to like the hustle and bustle of things. He was very confident all the way around with the way he was jumping, the rhythm and the way he was pricking his ears. He was loving it and he just kept taking him back. He won easy in the end. He’s rated 102 there and he’ll probably get a whack for that. I’m just glad that he went and did it. Probably because of the room that he needs, these galloping tracks suit him well. He might get into the bottom of something nice at Fairyhouse or somewhere like that.
