The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Tom Hogan, trainer of Milan Dollar Lady, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 The Raceday Stewards interviewed T.E. O'Connor, rider of Mellem, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that T. E. O'Connor was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended T. E. O'Connor for four racedays
