An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving First Encounter (GB) , placed fourth, ridden by Rossa Ryan, Weston Court (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rob Hornby and Mighty Real (GB) , ridden by Pierre-Louis Jamin.
The interference was found to be accidental as Ryan’s mount was hanging left-handed and edged left-handed despite the riders best efforts to correct his mount, resulting in Hornby being taken slightly off his intended line and Jamin becoming tight for room on the rail.
On the run to the line, Mount Mogan (GB), placed fifth, became short for room when awkwardly placed between First Encounter (GB), placed fourth, and Kondratiev Wave (IRE), placed third, which shifted slightly left-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that First Encounter (GB) , placed fourth, hung left-handed.
