An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from jumping the last hurdle to the line involving Cayman Dancer (GB), ridden by Robert Dunne, and Catch On Me (FR), placed second, ridden by Ned Fox.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Cayman Dancer (GB)’s placing as Catch On Me (FR) was carried off its intended line and bumped on at least three occasions, causing the gelding to lose ground and momentum which they considered to be more than the short head by which it was beaten.
The placings were revised as follows: 1st: Catch On Me (FR), 2nd: Cayman Dancer (GB), 3rd: Handmedownastar (IRE), 4th: Jambon (IRE).
Dunne was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed without sufficient correction causing Catch On Me (FR) to be taken off his racing line and making contact with the gelding on several occasions.
