Permission was given for Angel Of Antrim (IRE) and Just Typical (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
The winner, Angel Of Antrim (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 6 December 2024, where the gelding finished sixth of twelve, beaten 10½ lengths.
Jack Morland explained that the gelding may have benefitted from the re-application of a visor on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Angel Of Antrim (IRE) was routine tested.
Leaving the stalls, Concert Boy (IRE), placed second, jumped left-handed at the same time as the winner Angel Of Antrim (IRE), jumped right-handed, which moved Just Typical (GB), placed fifth, off its intended line and in turn caused See My Baby Jive (GB), unplaced, to be short of room and taken back.
But after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Sean Kirrane reported that Marcello Si (GB), unplaced, fly leapt leaving the stalls.
Ryan Kavanagh reported that Just Typical (GB), placed fifth, ran too free.
