Permission was given for Gather Ye Rosebuds (GB), MARIE’S ROCK (IRE), Night Sparkle (IRE) and Shagpyle (GB) to all wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two pieces of interference inside the final furlong involving the winner Term Of Endearment (GB), ridden by Rachel Blackmore and Night Sparkle (IRE), placed second, ridden by Kevin Stott.
In the first instance the Stewards found that the interference was accidental in that Night Sparkle (IRE) drifted marginally right-handed lightly brushing with Term Of Endearment (GB), the Stewards were satisfied that it had no bearing on the result as it was the second placed horse onto the winner.
Regarding the second incident, The Stewards consider the interference had not improved the placing of Term Of Endearment (GB) and that the interference was also found to be accidental as Term Of Endearment (GB) shifted left-handed before being quickly corrected, giving a bump to Night Sparkle (IRE).
The Stewards were satisfied that NIGHT SPRAKLE (IRE) was always being held by Term Of Endearment (GB) and the distance and momentum lost by the mare was less than the winning distance at the line of ¾ of a length.
Therefore, the Stewards ordered the result to remain unaltered.
