James Owen was asked to explain why he was running Abingworth (GB) here at Beverley on going described as Good To Firm, Good, in Places, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Sandown Park, on 04 July 2025 on ground with the same official description.
Owen stated that in his opinion, he felt the ground at Sandown Park was riding quicker than described, therefore he felt that the ground at Beverley was more suitable for Abingworth (GB) and he was happy for the gelding to take its chance.
