Inside the final half furlong, Criminal Shore (IRE), placed second, shifted right-handed at the same time as the winner, Saxonia (GB), shifted marginally left-handed causing Empire Of Light (IRE), placed fourth, to be short of room and the rider to take back.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Criminal Shore (IRE) or Saxonia (GB).
Following the race, Oliver Stammers reported that Empire Of Light (IRE), placed fourth, was continually denied a clear run inside the final two furlongs.
