Permission was given for Montezuma (GB) and Bonito Cavalo (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Jm Jhingree (IRE) to go early and wear a red hood to post.
Jm Jhingree (IRE), trained by Jim Goldie, ran without its right-fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at the declaration stage that the gelding should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.
Approaching the final furlong, Smooth Silesie (IRE), placed fourth, shifted slightly right-handed causing High Opinion (GB), unplaced, to be caught on heels and ease slightly.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Smooth Silesie (IRE).
Following the race, Sean Kirrane reported that Smooth Silesie (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run approaching the final furlong and Andrew Breslin reported that High Opinion (GB), unplaced, slipped leaving the stalls.
