Permission was given for Al Waqidi (GB), Lord Montague (GB), and Arctician (IRE) to all wear a red hood to post.
The raceday privilege request for Lord Montague (GB), trained by Jack Channon, to wear a red hood to post not submitted.
Channon was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Arctician (IRE), ridden by Paddy Bradley and Saxonia (GB), placed second, ridden by Joe Fanning.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Arctician (IRE)’s placing as despite Arctician (IRE) hanging left-handed which caused the rider of Saxonia (GB) to have to momentarily ease and switch off heels approximately half a furlong out, Arctician (IRE) appeared to be holding Saxonia (GB) comfortably at the line with the winning distance being ¾ length.
Therefore, the Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Arctician (IRE) hung badly left-handed inside the final furlong despite the rider's efforts to correct the gelding.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Al Waqidi (GB), unplaced, lost its left-fore shoe.
