The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Native Warrior (GB), trained by K.R.Burke (in GB), at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.P. Spencer, rider of Native Warrior (GB), concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mounts head carriage was high and he was backing off on the ground. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J.P Spencer was in breach of R10.3(h)(arm above shoulder) and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for two racedays
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Henry de Bromhead, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Wannabe Royal, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Cork on the 4th of April. Henry de Bromhead stated that he may have ran his charge back too quickly on his previous run. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its content.
