An enquiry was held to consider why J J Slevin, the rider of Matata (IRE), placed fifth, appeared to use his hand in an attempt to encourage his mount during the race after dropping his whip between the third- last and second-last fence.
The Stewards reminded Slevin of his responsibilities under Rule (D)2, that only an approved whip should be used to encourage a horse during a race.
