See also » Insult added to injury for Mark Walsh I am just a bit upset over Mark, but I think he is ok. It was totally untypical of the horse, who just lashed out, but is a gent of a horse. I suppose it was his first time at school,. We've always liked him, and Mark liked him a lot. Mark had schooled him and was keen to ride. It was nice to win this race, as the last time I did so was with Al Eile first time out as well. We thought we'd have to withdraw but, in fairness, the IHRB were very cooperative and on the ball. Once I could get a jockey quickly, I could run and it worked out well. Darragh had always ridden for me, so was the obvious pick. Danny Power is still a baby and mightn't be a horse until next season. We'll find a winners' of one somewhere, but we'll mind him as he is a lovely horse. John Queally, trainer

The Raceday Stewards received a report from Mrs. P. Hassett, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that R.A. Doyle, rider of Chairmanforlife (FR), weighed in at 1.5 lbs overweight
Evidence was heard from R.A. Doyle, who stated that he was unable to explain the discrepancy in the weights
Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that R.A. Doyle was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for two racedays
The Raceday Stewards observed staff of J. Queally, trainer, remaining on the track during the running of the race after they had assisted with Danny Power going to the start. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards reminded J. Queally of his responsibilities in this regard.
