Approaching the first bend, the free-running Sassy Redhead (GB), placed second, shifted left-handed when being restrained off the heels of the winner, May Remain (GB), which had also shifted left-handed, causing Madame Fenella (GB), unplaced, to become momentarily tight for room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Sassy Redhead (GB) or May Remain (GB).
Following the race, William Carson reported that Dequinto (IRE), placed fifth, jumped awkwardly from the stalls.
