Champagne celebrations after Gowran opener
It was testing ground the day he won his bumper at Naas but it is very testing ground today and while he got a grand lead, it was very hard to tell how fast to go. They went very steady and quickened it from the turn-in, but they still finished tired. I wouldn't say you could quicken for too long on that ground. He did everything right and off his rating (124), he was supposed to win that. It's not as if I haven't thought about going for the Series Final at the Punchestown festival, but I will consider going straight chasing with him now. He is getting on and chasing will be his job.
Lovely double for Cromwell
An hour is a long time in racing!’ . Heavy ground is very important to him and to be fair he jumped so well over fences the last day that I thought he was a far better chaser than hurdler.
Marelly Clings On For Rothwell After Enterprising Front-Running
Tiernan was very positive and I keep telling everyone that he, Simon (Torrens), Dylan (Robinson) and all the lads at home are big assets to me and I have real men riding for me,. I told Tiernan to kick on, never take a pull and if he was travelling to leave him travel. I couldn't believe he was getting such an easy lead.Ãâ . He loves, loves heavy ground which I had struggled to get with him and I stuck blinkers on today. He is in an online auction for ThoroughBid next week and if he isn't sold, he'll go handicap chasing. He is also in at Limerick on Tuesday so we'll see. I thought today was his day and I felt he was my best chance of the day. What a great day to get a winner again.

Now Is The Hour Denies Better Times Ahead In Dramatic Thyestes
This is unbelievable stuff and I wasn't sure if he had won, as it was close. Eoin was very good on him and he is great value for his 5lb claim. It is a fantastic race to win and what a difference a day can make!. You couldn't have said he was beaten when falling at the second-last at Cheltenham last March and he was a maiden coming here, so it was a nice way to break his maiden tag. The race is a big part of the calendar with a huge history and while I had finished second in this race last year, it is great to have your name on the cup. It is the first time he has got his ground since he won a Grade 2 hurdle race at Haydock. He again qualifies for the National Hunt Chase so will go straight there, despite having a penalty for winning this. If he doesn't do anything else, he has been fantastic for us and we have been on the cold list for a while so this is well appreciated. Eoin is good value for his claim, is improving all the time and is a nice fella.
