Permission was given for Nordic Games (GB) to be mounted in the chute, for Commander Atkinson (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and to go early to post.
Approaching the final ½ furlong, Invincible Annice (IRE), placed third, shifted quickly right-handed causing the rider of Nordic Games (GB), unplaced, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Invincible Annice (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Dc Cogent (GB), placed second, ridden by David Nolan, Commander Atkinson (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ben Robinson and Ann Terry (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
Nolan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he shifted his mount left-handed when insufficiently clear, giving a slight bump to Commander Atkinson (GB) which in turn caused Ann Terry (GB) to be moved off its intended racing line.
Following the race, Sam James reported that Hundred Caps (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed and Warren Fentiman reported that Bonnie's Boy (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run on several occasions inside the final 2 furlongs.
