Permission was given for Nikovo (GB) to go early to post, for Silent Film (GB) and Superposition (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Superposition (GB), placed second, ridden by P J McDonald, Boiling Point (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Sam James, Mr Professor (IRE), unplaced, ridden by David Egan and Tribal Chief (FR), unplaced, ridden by Harry Davies.
The interference was found to be accidental as Superposition (GB) had shifted slightly right- handed into the path of Boiling Point (IRE) which had momentarily lugged off the rail and in doing so presented a gap to both Mr Professor (IRE) and Tribal Chief (FR) who were then subsequently short of room due to Mr Professor (IRE) being corrected by its rider back to its initial racing line.
Following the race, Ray Dawson reported that Fantastic Fox (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run when approaching the final furlong.
