An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line, involving the winner, Ivane (FR), ridden by Gavin Sheehan and Rock On Tommy (GB), placed second, ridden by Sean Bowen.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental and had not improved Ivane (FR)’s placing as Ivane (FR) had hung quickly right-handed at the same time as Rock On Tommy (GB) shifted marginally left-handed, causing both runners to come together and make contact a stride before the line which resulted in Ivane (FR) becoming unbalanced and Rock On Tommy (GB) losing no momentum to be beaten by a head on the line.
