Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the mare was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference inside the final furlong involving Al Suil Eile (FR), placed fifth, ridden by Robert Havlin; I CAN’T BELIEVE, placed fourth, ridden by Rossa Ryan; Light Up Our Stars (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Joey Haynes; Retraction (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart and Ring Of Gold (GB), placed third, ridden by Joanna Mason.
The Stewards considered both incidents to be accidental as in the first incident Ring Of Gold (GB) edged marginally left-handed at the same time as Retraction (IRE) shifted slightly right-handed causing the weakening Light Up Our Stars (IRE) to be briefly short of room.
In the second piece of interference as Ring Of Gold (GB) committed for a legitimate gap, I CAN’T BELIEVE stepped left-handed moving Mason further left than intended, resulting in Retraction (IRE) being checked between Ring Of Gold (GB) and Al Suil Eile (FR).
Approximately ½ a furlong out Down To The Kid (IRE), placed second, hung right-handed briefly hampering Mykonos St John (GB), unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and had not improved the placing of Down To The Kid (IRE).
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Ring Of Gold (GB), placed third, was denied a clear run on several occasions from 1 ½ furlongs out.
