Beau Jardine (IRE), trained by Rachel Cook & John Bridger spread a plate on the way to post.
As the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the gelding should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post, Beau Jardine (IRE) ran without its right-fore shoe.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately half a furlong out involving, the winner, Amathus (IRE), ridden by Mr Frederick Tett and Call Glory (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Bradley Furniss.
Being a 7lb claiming amateur, Mr Furniss was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Amathus (IRE)’s placing, as although Call Glory (IRE) was initially intimidated off its intended line before both horses drifted right-handed, the Stewards could not be satisfied that any ground or momentum lost by Call Glory (IRE), exceeded the neck margin by which it was beaten.
Mr Tett was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift right-handed without correction.
The Clerk of the Scales objected to Margorie (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Miss Khadijah Mellah, and trained by Eve Johnson Houghton on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 10 stone 7lbs having weighed out at 10 stone 9lbs.
The rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Miss Mellah was suspended for 3 days, on dates to be notified, as she failed to draw the correct weight.
Margorie (GB) was disqualified.
