Turning into the home straight, Autumn Angel (IRE), unplaced, shifted slightly right-handed at the same time as Blue Seeker (IRE), unplaced, shifted left-handed causing the rider of Tickets (GB), placed fifth, to take a slight check but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Andrew Mullen was questioned regarding his riding of Tickets (GB), placed fifth, which having suffered interference two furlongs out was then ridden tenderly until the final furlong, where it was asked for an effort and finished strongly, to be beaten by 3 ¾ lengths.
Mullen explained that he planned to settle his mount by dropping it in, allowing it to finish its race as it has had a tendency to race freely in the past.
Having failed to settle throughout the race, on turning into the home straight he was tightened for room, had to take back and then get the gelding re-balanced.
Thereafter, he found himself amongst weakening horses and had to wait for a clear passage before being able to ask Tickets (GB) for an effort inside the final furlong.
Once the others had dropped away he then asked his mount for an effort and had, in his opinion, achieved the best possible placing.
Mullens' explanation was noted.
Following the race, Rose Dawes reported that Shades Of May (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed in the home straight.
