THE AYR RACECOURSE RACING CLUB HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Taygar (IRE) and Filly's Last Lady (GB) to wear a red hood to post, and for Colour Code to be led to post early.
Having reviewed the start, the Stewards were satisfied that Colour Code (IRE) had refused to race after the start had been effected, and was therefore deemed to be a runner.
An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Colour Code (IRE) which had stood in the stalls as the start was effected and refused to race.
Linda Perratt was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
As the mare had also refused to race at Hamilton on 3 May 2026, Perratt was informed that any future similar behaviour from Colour Code (IRE) may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that an examination of The Gay Blade (GB), unplaced, post-race during routine testing, found the gelding to have bled from the nose.
