Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race.

Approximately one and a half furlongs out, the winner, YES I’M MALI, hung right-handed moving Lord Abama (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line which as a result caused Pal Joey (GB), unplaced, to be tight for room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of YES I’M MALI.
Approaching one furlong out, Mr Dreamseller (GB), unplaced, shifted slightly right-handed causing the rider of Monotone (IRE), unplaced, to take a brief check when becoming crowded for room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, YES I’M MALI, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster, on 29 March 2026 where the gelding finished fourteenth of seventeen runners, beaten by 11 ¾ lengths.
David O’Meara’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the step up in trip from 5 furlongs to 6 furlongs, was noted.
YES I’M MALI was routine tested.
Following the race, David Allan reported that Stirrup Cup (GB), placed third, was denied a clear run one and a half furlongs out.
