Permission was given for Mr Le Philosophe (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
After jumping the final hurdle, the winner, Jullou De Grissay (FR), hung left-handed despite the riders best efforts at the same time as Mikhailovich (IRE), placed second, hung notably right-handed, resulting in the two horses making contact on several occasions, unbalancing both runners.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Jullou De Grissay (FR).
The performance of Mr Le Philosophe (GB), which started favourite and finished seventh of ten finishers, beaten 46 ¼ lengths, was considered.
The representative of James Owen reported that the gelding was unsuited by the Good ground, which in their opinion is riding on the easier side, and would prefer a faster surface.
The Veterinary Officer examined Mr Le Philosophe (GB) during routine testing and had nothing to report.
